After the announcement by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the interference in federal facilities regained people's attention. He told the National Conference of Correctional Officials that federal prisons would begin to retest the technology.
In an interview with NBC News, officials of the US Department of Defense did not confirm whether they lost any drone crashes due to signal interference, but an official did say that the interference is having an impact on military operations in Syria.

Although the Indian Telegraph Act requires government permission before interfering with any mobile phone or network, the sales and use of communication blocking devices have been increasing. Many companies, individuals, libraries, and entertainment centers are known to use jammers sold under various names in stores and websites. Internationally, installing jammers in private parties is a tricky problem. According to the Federal Communications Commission, consumers cannot legally use jammers in the United States, nor can they legally sell them to retailers. But theaters, restaurants, schools, and colleges often use jammers to block communications.
The statutory inspection command agency of the central or state government can also use "low-power jammers" to block communications. This is to prevent unfair means during the exam. However, the test command agency must rent or lease such equipment from authorized public sector units instead of owning them.
An overworked Army intelligence personnel tracked frequencies, and an overworked naval electrical engineer matched them with 14 types of electronic jammers used by the coalition forces. With the emergence of new frequencies, the National Security Agency, the Naval Electronic Warfare experts in Maryland, and the Army experts in New Jersey analyzed the latest MOASS and recommended adjustments to the interference settings. These modified "load sets" were then emailed to the US military throughout Iraq so that the jammers could be reprogrammed.
